I try to remember to change my remote batteries every year
I have a pile of stuff that pushes out squiggly waveforms from smaller squiggly waveforms that sometimes come from 1's and 0's.

Don’t use alkaline batteries for remote too.

So far my experience with Energizer has no leak issues. Had leak issues with Duracell.

Best is to use rechargeable batteries like what Ron said.

A lot of fake energizer batteries also nowadays. i would avoid that. for expensive equipment and their remote, use rechargeable batteries, no worries with rechargeable batteries

I think alkaline batteries are not suitable for slow drain devices like remotes.  These alkaline batteries are those heavy type, like energiser and duracell. Worst if fake ones like what bro ron mentioned.

I will now either use rechargeable batteries or those cheap and light ones, like those sony batteries sold for $1 for a pack of 4.

Pls replace the original batteries that were supplied with ur 205 and 203 asap to avoid what happened to mine.

I too have switched to rechargeables for many years.

Haven’t lost a single remote since.

But I do notice that with remotes that have backlight, the rechargeables last even shorter than normal. Or not light up particularly bright.

I bought tons of rechargeable batteries to constantly change them when they are drained out. The batteries in my Harmony remote usually only last for a month.

remember most alkaline cells are 1.6V new and rechargeable 1.2V nominally so some remotes won't like operating at such lower voltages

There is a possibility that this update may include HDR10+ since Oppo is also one of the participating brands backing HDR10+.

Funny how the 2 major players all exited the Blu-ray player market even before HDR10+ rolled out. Samsung at least going to implement HDR10+ in their flagship phones.

Yes according to report @avsforum OPPO UDP 205 thread although it didn't indicated,it's in the beta FW also. The main features of this update are added HDR10+ & Dolby Vision pass through on HDMI input on the 20x player.

Now just need to wait for more 4K titles that mastered in HDR10+ to take advantage of it. There is currently one or 2 titles but not movies iirc.
