I got a $2,000 12 metre-HDMI cable connected between my projector and my Blu Ray Player Video HDMI outlet before.  Every now and then, I got the handshaking issue.  Once in a while, video on for a brief few second and then handshaking resumes again.  Sometimes, I will get a continuous blackout ....you must shake it a bit...or let the system rest and hope it restart and everything be OK.

Then I switch to optical HDMI and replaced the $2,000 cable with it.  NO MORE PROBLEM.   100% reliable, you switch on, it work each and every time.   I am so pleased that I bought 5 more optical cables and made my home theater completely HDMI optical.

That is why from your description, I knew it was the HDMI cable.

yes that was the advice I got from a member at AVForum as well. these cables were laid for me by my installer just before the CB period and I have reported the matter to them. both cables are currently running inside my false ceiling and when the workers are available, I should be able to have them replaced with optical HDMI cables.

You can’t really compare a cable not designed for 18Gbps with one that was.

I think they should resurrect the brand and come up with new 4K Blu-ray player lineup featuring support for HDMI 2.1 etc.

I kinda regret having to sell off my Oppo 203.

I use 10m optical hdmi cable from my Denon 6400h to my Benq W5700. Still encounter handshake issue occasionally.

Yep. Nothing is for certain. It depends on the quality of the optical cable itself. My 15m optical cable out of sudden just kaput w/o warning. Luckily the shop willing to do a one to one exchange for me ROC even after 1 year. Now the replacement cable is doing fine (touchwood).

In my case, brand does play a part for a quality of HDMI optical cable.
Running 10 m HDMI cable from Receiver to Oled TV (ARC).

Monoprice Certified HDMI cable (Copper) - Sound dropped for split second every 1-2 minutes on pass through. No problem with PCM, but SQ suffer big time (soft and no punch).
Vention Optical HDMI Cable - Totally no sound
Aztebe Optical HDMI Cable - Same issue with Monoprice Copper HDMI Cable
Ruipro Optical HDMI Cable - all is good

I'm also using Ruipro. Most of the time OK. But the picture will drop for 2-3 sec once in a while.

Go into your BenQ settings, set the hdmi equaliser to a higher value. See if u still encounter Signal drop out. This setting is available in isf mode

I’ve been using this brand from China “ Moshou. Fiber hdmi 2.1 15 meters, smooth and no stutter , no issues so far even on 12k material

Monoprice is the worst from my experience, i would avoid that. Not sure about the new batch now, but once bitten twice shy
