if leases are not extended past the final date then nothing anyone can do I would say. those that might have extended leases maybe get paid out / compensated I suppose. shame tho for those not in a position to restart elsewhere. Hard enough with margins as low as they are to make it there anyway as Im sure rents not cheap. I do less and PC stuff these days anyway. can always source online as noted by others - just have to factor convenience of immediate product verses waiting for delivery via post/couriers etc
I have a pile of stuff that pushes out squiggly waveforms from smaller squiggly waveforms that sometimes come from 1's and 0's.

https://www.straitstimes.com/lifestyle/home-design/new-funan-mall-to-get-24-hour-drive-through-for-shoppers-to-pick-up-items

SINGAPORE - Drive-throughs are a common sight at fast-food joints and car washes, but come next year, the new Funan mall in North Bridge Road will also be providing a 24-hour service where you can drive up and collect items you have bought.

This "click and collect" system lets people pick up their online and in-store purchases through their car windows the way they would a fast-food meal - part of Funan's push to become "Singapore's first online and offline shopping mall".

Shoppers need only flash a QR code on their phones in front of a scanner for a robotic arm to retrieve the items for them.

The mall - formerly Funan DigitaLife Mall, which closed in July 2016 - is part of the upcoming Funan integrated development due to open in the civic and cultural district in the third quarter of next year.

The 887,000 sq ft development, owned by CapitaLand Mall Trust and managed by CapitaLand, will also feature co-living serviced apartments and two grade A office blocks.

It will be connected to the City Hall MRT station by an underpass.

Golden Village cinemas, foodcourt Kopitiam, rock climbing gym Climb Central, theatre company Wild Rice, jeweller Carrie K, supermarket FairPrice Finest and computer store Newstead Technologies, among others, have reserved units at the mall.

Aside from the "click and collect" drive-through, shoppers can expect other high-tech features at the new mall.

They can use the CapitaStar app, for instance, to sign up for craft workshops, book tickets to a performance, reserve parking spaces and pay their parking fees.

At certain stores, automated guided vehicles will pick up shoppers' purchases on request, before storing the items at one of 100 click-and-collect lockers in Basement 2.

The shoppers can either walk down to the basement to collect their shopping bags from these lockers or pick them up via the 24-hour drive-through.

These two options are also available when customers want to collect items bought online.

To better understand people's shopping habits and preferences, the mall will study transaction data from in-store smart terminals, as well as footage from closed-circuit television cameras outside stores which will track footfall and shopper demographics.

Mr Wilson Tan, CapitaLand Retail's chief executive, said: "As smartphones change the way people shop and socialise, the design and operations of retail space must be reimagined to meet changing consumer expectations for an integrated online and offline experience."

Mr Tony Tan, CapitaLand Mall Trust Management's chief executive, said the mall's "omni-channel retail infrastructure" will attract tenants "who are able to adapt to and excel in this fast-changing retail landscape".

Finally...the new Funan Mall is going to open to the public in the 2nd Qtr of this year. I'm looking forward to the hands-free shopping concept...based on the Youtube clip below, it looks really high-tech and cool.

Looks interesting but the video didn't link properly. Parking likely to be expensive.

LED lights and cycling track... interesting, but is it enough to bring the crowds back?
I rather have good prices.
Now that Sim Lim is going en bloc, that's good news for them.
