Rotel Owner's Thread - tips and info
« on: August 29, 2015, 17:04 »
Just putting together a thread for all owners and interested parties.

Rotel represents a good value proposition.

Having owned the 991, 991, 1080, RB 1572, plus the AVR 965, I look forward to more British muscle for my HT system.

Fellow users, do chip in, cheers.

I thought is end of Oct. Do you mean auto detect power up?

There's more info here:
http://www.rotel.com/NA/products/ProductDetails.htm?Id=512

The power amp will detect if you are using the RCA / XLR inputs. It does not have an auto-power up function. It has a pair of DC triggers: input and output.

The 1585 shipment should come in early October. That's what I was told...

RSP 1572:
http://www.soundandvision.com/content/rotel-rsp-1572-surround-sound-preampprocessor#2m00qXprMkcxmQaE.97

Not too inspiring for a USD 2200 processor, no Auto-Eq, no Atmos...

Got mine too.. will write more when I have some down time.. but it's amazingly dynamic, and even at lower volumes, it's able to show the advantages of a solid power amp.

Just found this little monster... http://www.optomausa.com/soundproduct/MCA20 Only 8 channels but significantly more oomph than the rotel per channel. No bridging tho I think...maybe from comments I've heard it's not so reliable tho.

I have a pile of stuff that pushes out squiggly waveforms from smaller squiggly waveforms that sometimes come from 1's and 0's.
It's wonderful to behold as long as you don't let the magic smoke out.

Life is short! Enjoy the music while it plays, when it stops, there might be a chair for you...or  maybe not.

I managed to try out at day dynamic. Very transparent, dynamic and detail. I like the high presented from the amp.

It's still running in but no real issues.
Powerful and adds a real dynamism.

Are you upgrading too?
