Congrats bro cableguy!
Test it carefully. My 1st set of B6 had channel imbalance. Replacement set fortunately ok liao. I suggest removing the tweeter grills for the highs to really shine. The bass is really deep & tuneful. I believe it benefits from better amplification too. Enjoy :)

Here's my B6 sitting on isolation foam pads and driven by the budget Nad C320BEE. I removed the tweeter grills  ;D

Wonder if the Emotiva mini-X a-100 would sound better than the Nad?

Thanks, whyeme, your picture helps!

1. Before I touch anything, how did you remove the tweeter grilles?

2. By the way, I thought 1-2 ft space needed for side and rear of speaker, is your choice of placement because of space constraint?

My initial impressions with the B6, with only few hours of run-in:

A. These speakers produce a bigger sound than they look and can be used in more than just a small to medium listening room.

B. Bass dept is not lacking, quite a bit of depth and breadth...maybe more defined as more hours are clocked.

C. I have this impression that these speakers won't be shy to get more amp wattage. I am running  them with a Pop Pulse T-AMP180 now and it feels like they will do better with higher wattage amps.

D. Highs and Mids could do with more presence and more airy although they are all quite there. It likely to be those "prison" grilles on the tweeters...don't know why A.J. obstruct them this way. Like whyeme said, need to remove them. I tried toe-in about 10-degrees, it does help.

E. And yes, again, don't know why A.J. likes his honeycomb plastic speaker grille. That needs to go as well. Maybe just a rectangular frame with thin cloth would really work better.

I got the B6 sitting on my budget Atacama SE24 spiked semi sand-filled stands sitting on chopping boards.

Would love to hear more from others...

Just use a pin to gently pry out the tweeter grills. Yup u guessed it I got plenty of space constraints  :'(

The mids will take some running in time to fully bloom. Whoa the B6 looks mighy handsome sitting on your Atacama stands.

Great will try that out. Black speakers on black stands always look good.

Really don't understand how can good sound be produced through these speaker grilles...

AJ used a bel canto integrated amp to drive the Elacs at the show. Maybe really need a very good amp to make it sing.

i see you are placing it almost touching the rear wall, any issues with the port or bass control? I am eyeing on this pair as well but is having serious space constraints

Chaozhoi bro, the bass is of cos boomier in my current placement so near to the walls than if it were placed in my main rig. But I have to live with it till I find more space. Good thing is that the B6 isnt voiced to be overly bassy. If the material has it, it comes thru. If not, the bass doesnt overwhelm the other frequencies.

Would be interesting to see what AJ does for elac next.

Hi whyeme and chaozoi, is wall mounting the speakers an option?

As long as you can find a suitable mount. I would advise against drilling into the speakers as it would likely affect the sound & of course the re-sale value. Fortunately I found an appropriate mount for my Pioneer BS22. No drilling into speakers needed  ;D

Really don't understand how can good sound be produced through these speaker grilles...

AJ voiced the Elacs without the speaker grilles, so they are there only for protection. But he did voice them with the tweeter grilles on, so perhaps he was aiming for a warmer sound signature.
