Let me check the other titles n covers

Checked. Oblivion and reel steel didn't have the region A logo on the cover.

Train the dragon 2 is region A.

Tested another few region A BDs from Amazon U. Many could play:
Prometheus
Dawn of the planet of the apes
Kingsman
X-Men origins wolverine
X-Men days of future past

Couldn't play:
Mockingjay part 1
Hunger Games
Up

Looks like not all region A BDs are affected :) that's good news for us!

By the way, the workarounds in the videos don't work for me too

I must say the pq for the ub420 is amazing for the price. Especially the HDR performance. Really good. Impressed for a player at this price point.

You wouldn’t go wrong with panny PQ. Owned a few of their players. Took out a US (110V) bluray player from storage a couple months ago and it’s PQ still shine on my 4k tv. The panny player is at least 7yrs old.

The only gripe I have with Panny player is the archaic user interface. And some AVSForum members also complained about the fan noise for UB820 and higher end.

Agreed on the unfriendly user interface too.

And the buttons layout on the remote on 420 is not very ideal. So cramped! :/  esp the buttons they place around the directional buttons. Easily wrongly press other button when I want to go right, left or up.

Oppo's UI is much better I feel and region free. I still have a soft spot for my Oppo :)

It's a waste they exited the market sigh

I didn’t hear any noise from my player while I was watching a quiet place last night.

Glad to know. I believed some of the AVSForumers might have placed the player very near to their MLP. Thanks for sharing.

While my UB420 doesn’t sport a fan, the disc loading and reading is certainly “louder” than usual especially when compared to Oppo and the Pioneer LX500. But PQ wise especially for HDR, Panny wins hands down imo.

I wonder how does the "Xbox One "S" or "X" compares against the Panasonic players.
As in the colour reproduction area's.
Anyone tried to pit the "Microsoft" vs "Panasonic"?

Has anyone compared this to the Panny?

It should compare with the UB9000 since they are about the same price range.

Tried all 3 methods on a few Region A BDs and none worked.

Shared by fellow Aussie member from HTF. Some titles from LIONSGATE really pain in the...butt!
