Bro
You may want to wait first.. Let the dust settle
Firstly Blu Ray was such an unfinished product that the first Blu Ray players became obsolete quickly.
Second the hdcp and Hdmi version evolution is a real pain.
Of course if you need one right now it will work well as a standard Blu Ray player.
Remember our samsung bdp 1400 :)

It's rare for US disc players to be equipped with universal power supplies.  All the imported players I have only accept 100V which will necessitate the use of step-downs which AUDIO will not have an issue since he has them setup all over his house.

Since when is this "high-end"...it is just a plastic player that can playback the new 4k UltraHD discs.

US$399.....what are you looking for?

I suspect their 101ci will be used as a mule for a new player.

Why they want to do that?  They are no PS Audio or Ayre......

They will sell you a new player.

Bro that's what a mule is.. They try out all the parts so when 4K is more accepted, they only have to put a new 4K drive and sell it as their first 4K player with tried and tested parts that are highly reliable.
With the right Hdmi board it can be the new 104 and with a toroidal it can be the new 106..
No need to develop another chassis for the 4K platform.
