My player that was bought and sold recently seems region free. I tried playing code 1 and 2 bluray and both played seamlessly  And that player was in original condition.

Bro, this is different. This is an enhanced (third party) firmware update to make all advanced features be available to all models. This is important for JVC projector users.

That’s more exciting news for me than just region free Blu-ray playback (of course I can now playback some of my Blu-ray collections as well).

Just sent out my application as a contributor to that site...wonder when will I get the enhanced firmware? I will report back here in due course. 2 ways to get the firmware - make monetary contribution in Euro Dollars or state how you intend to help advance the project etc...I chose the latter and if that does not work, then donate 10 Euro equiv to S$15+ as a token of appreciation then.

The Panasonic 420 is on sale down under - $299 Aus. Anyone ?

Getting in one piece 420 for my Uncle, looks like a no brainer for the price and quality

Will be in Melbourne in a couple of months and thinking of getting the Panasonic UB9000 or 820 to take advantage of the HDR Optimizer - apparently it works well with the JVC N series projector which I’m about to get due to collaboration between Panasonic and JVC.

Anyone knows of any good retail shops in Australia to get these players? Really don’t understand why Panasonic makes things so difficult for us Sg enthusiasts. Sigh.

JB Hifi has many branches, or if you take Grab, you can go out to Westcoast..

Just saw this...
https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/players-recorders/panasonic/panasonic-dp-ub820-4k-ultra-hd-blu-ray-player-with-dolby-vision-and-hdr10-suppor/367143/
... It's probably just added into their online catalogue these few days. As I last accessed JBHiFi last week looking for updates on their UHDBD releases, also looking out for their new players release.

Does your region A Blu Ray disc have the symbol for all three regions or just A. Makes a big difference...
