If only the German E-tailer can remove the VAT on checkout... The price will be very competitive to WestCoast HiFi.

Depending on which model u've seen.
if it's the 970, that's the older model. if it's ubp90 or 80, these are newer models. ubp80 is priced to compete with SONY x700. ubp970 though old, it have the same build as the ubp90, but perhaps limited functions with older firmware.
I've seen German(if i'm not wrong) review on the old model, that seems to point out the reddish hue on the picture output of the older model.

Panasonic will launch 2 more UHD players UB450 and UB150. UB 450 will have DV as compare to UB420. As for the HDR optimiser for the UB450, we have to wait for more specs to be release.

Aiyah...Just got the UB-420. Didn’t expect so fast another step up model surfaced. Anyway, for projector users, DV is pretty much useless (at the moment) since none accept DV signal. HDR10+ is a collaboration efforts among some of the top brands in AV consumer electronics to rival with Dolby’s DV format. Will it take off to make a dent on DV, we shall wait and see.

I think Panny should fire the website content team for the numerous “typo errors” on the models. UB-150 becomes UB-159 and UB-450 becomes UB-459 and better still even a phantom model called UB-154 comes into existence. LoL

Very true, DV is useless to projector, only for tv. Let’s see how projector companys come out with a solution in the future. Panasonic is really too fast. I was caught off guard too. The UB420 is a good player. PQ is solid like the two big brothers. Give us your opinions on the hdr optimiser on your JVC coz not many panny user here in Sg. Would like to learn more from you regarding the setting for Panasonic players. I think the 9 at the end of the model number is meant for Europe market. As the 4, don’t know what’s that for.
