Spotify!
« on: March 03, 2015, 20:10 »
I have recently subscribed to Spotify premium account and through Spotify connect to naim unitiqute 2 and Harbeth SHL5, even with 320KbpS Ogg I am having a ball of a time discovering so much music and the quality is very acceptable. Have not been listening to my high res lossless for a long time, always start Spotify in the morning and evening after work.
Anyone share the same sentiment?

Yes if you forget it is lossy format, it is fun to use.. I use it mostly during commuting, running, when bored.. allows me to discover more artists and music.

Can't wait for lossless to come to Spotify

Yes i hv also subscribe to spotify premium for 3months at promo of $9.90. Discover more music and artistes along the way.

Wondering will they continue the promo rate?

Yes, discovering so much more music. Every night just checking out spotify recommendations based on my music taste, it's like buying music everyday!

the playlists that Spotify curates is pretty good too. that was how i discovered jazz fusion and am currently listening to a playlist called "pure mellow jazz" this morning. the sound quality for premium subscription sounds very decent over headphones with a portable amp/ dac and also over my sound bar. i've not tried playing it through my floor standers but i might do that one of these days, just for the fun of it.

Spotify to me is excellent for casual listening and music discovery...acceptable quality and I stream it to my system via a Bluetooth DAC which makes it more enjoyable. Strongly recommended...

I wonder what is the difference between premium or non premium. I've been using free version for 3 days and addicted to it! It's like a customised radio channel of your genres!

Wonder whether will it take up alot of data if I use it on 4G. :/

Do you mean spotify? The paid version features much better sound quality and you can stream full albums on demand as many times as you want. You can also download full albums to your computer & mobile devices for offline hearing, if you want to save on your data plan.

yes, paid version audio quality is much better.

free version has advertisement and it shuffle the tracks, can be rather irritating.
