...are these line magnetic products? not sure why they were renamed as LM22A and LM555 as these are obviously from WE originally. don't have the good fortune of experiencing the 555 but i heard the WE22A / Altec 290 combo with a 515 in the 825 cab and was impressed with the presentation.
a super tweeter (aka 3-way) is a must-have in this type of setup.

LM also produce replicate WE amp and driver unit. Another amp i was considering was the WE124 LM replicate, Robert is able to bring in at $4.2k. But without being able to audition the sound, i took lm219 instead

Hi all bros using the 5AR4 Rectifier tube. Currently using the LM518IA
Most info on the net says it can roll a equivilent GZ34.
The question is if I use a Mullard GZ37, any issues?
I heard the GZ37 will draw more current.

Ok some updates.
I rolled my tubes from the stocks to all Psvane

12AX7 to 12AX7 Psvane Tii
5AR4 to WE274
6P3P to 6CA7 Tii

The difference is huge. The moment the rectifier tube was replaced, the vocal appears to be tighter in the middle. With the 6CA7, the seperation is more prominent with better 3D imaging at the front.

All tubes available at Robert's place

I went down the same tube rolling path of changing to psvane Tii iexcept for the 310a tube. But since this loan set came without stock tube so was not able to compare the diff.

I also bought some WE310a. Comparing with the stock 310a, the WE got a smoother mid but lesser bass.

This thread is so quiet.

Some changes in my set up.
Removed Marantz CD 6004,
added in a Vintage Accuphase DP70.
Even this is a 20 year old CD player, I feel this CD player is a beast! Its like Wolverine, old and powerful and ever age. Even the younger generations of CD players cannot hold a candle to it.
