Why LUMIN U1 MINI

Following the huge success of LUMIN D2, we decided to investigate the possibility of making the LUMIN transport technology similarly accessible.

The result is a huge specification in a compact package.

Capable of upsampling and downsampling all the way from 44.1kHz to DSD128 and supporting playback of DSD256, LUMIN U1 MINI matches the U1 in almost every area - except price. <--- ?????

The chassis lo. Similar to D2, T1 compared against A1/S1/X1 and so came the U1 Mini against U1  ;D

Bot the U1 mini yesterday  :)
Setup was a breeze. Plug in, download the LUMIN app and started playing
Best part was, it worked with the Seagate Personal cloud NAS which can’t run Minim server
It replaced my old MacBook running Audirvana
First impression, wow, soundstage wider and lower noise
So far so good, will let it break in for a few days and see if there is further improvement

Which DAC are you using, and which type of connection (e.g. USB, AES, etc.) are you using?

Thanks.

That's the plan actually, next level of Chord DAC, maybe Hugo TT2 . That's why bought U1 mini, instead of D1 or D2
Looking for something with balanced output to maximize my preamp

It's probably a little early for many X1 comparisons to be out there, but there are a few interesting comparisons with other LUMIN products which might give you an idea...

One week in with the Lumin U1 Mini (with James' LPS conversion and Plixir LPS), and it's already sounding very good with my Chord Qutest. Very impressed so far, I'm hoping this will be my modest end-game system.

It's been playing maybe 14hrs/day so I'm expecting it to open out and relax even more over the next few weeks. Lumin UX is great, but y'all knew that I guess!

System:
NAS/Tidal>Lumin U1 Mini (Plixir LPS)>DHLabs D750 spdif rca-bnc/Inakustik USB>Chord Qutest>Inakustik Ref 1203>Hegel H160>VdH Magnum bi-wire>Quad S-5
