Ok. I lost you here.
I have not bought the Chromecast yet. I will follow your instructions when I get Chromecast from Lazarda.
Sorry for wasting your time.

Will check back again when I have bought it and set up and I would like to know if what Remote control do I use when it is set up. Until then thanks.

Trust me...you will "know what to do" when you get your hands on one :)

No worries :)

Recommend you buy from Google store directly.

If buying from Lazada, make sure they ship you v3 not v2.

* I bought mine from Google store.

Hi Desray,

I have got my Chromecast Ver3.

I want to use it on my Pioneer Plasma Tv PDP-436xga  ( No WIFI ) which has a Media Receiver with an Input HDMI.

Presently I am using a Switcher with 3 Inputs and 1 Output which goes to the Media Receiver.

!st Input is from the Starhub Set-top box. 2nd and 3rd Inputs are from my 2 DVD players.

Now I want to use the 3rd Input for my Chromecast.

I understand that the Device to direct the Chromecast is my Handphone. If I use that it will be very Hot unlike a Remote Control and I have to charge frequently especially when I am watching a Documentary/Chinese serial.  Is there anyway of using other devices other than a Hp.?

Can I use my PC instead and what connections are required ?

Any advice/guidance appreciated.

Yes you can use other devices like tablet and even PC/laptop. But you must use Chrome browser. U can go to Youtube page and then use the same technique - i.e. look out for the "Cast" icon and select your chromecast to cast the video to your TV.

In addition, you can also cast an entire webpage using Chrome browser to your TV as well. This is especially useful if you want to show images or an article on the website to your friends etc...

First with what do I need to connect my PC to the to the TV. My PC is a Dell inspiron 20" 3000 series and has a LAN socket but not sure if it is an Input or Output.

Thank you.

You need to have WiFi enabled on your laptop/PC. If only LAN, then cannot as for a chromecast to work, both the source (PC or laptop) must share the same WiFi network.
