MWTS: Lenehan Audio PDX Level 2 DAC
« on: February 07, 2013, 18:47 »
Due to an impending upgrade, I may wish to sell my Lenehan PDX Level 2 DAC (with Duelund output coupling capacitors), provided the price is right.

Mine comes with both SPDIF Coax as well as USB inputs, but without the volume control. I have upgraded the tubes to Amperex 7308 PQ, Large Halo Getter (US$385 per pair). Also have upgraded the external power supply to one made by our very own Artaudio. The USB input implementation is very good: a LiPO4 battery powered M2Tech, which from my own testing still sounded better than using an external Stello U3 USB converter with flagship Acrolink Mexcel cables. Total cost at purchase was $5500.

I have auditioned many DACs around and even above its price bracket, and I still much prefer the sound of the Lenehan. My own sense that one needs to get close to or above $10k to hear a definite improvement over the Lenehan, and even that may not always be the case. I would have kept the unit for a spare setup if not for severe space constraints.

Asking $3800. Unit is just over 1 year old, and is still under warranty. Short auditions are possible for serious buyers. If interested, please PM me. Thank you.
