Google translate for the differences with lx89. I will post english version in later time. Stay tune ;)
10. google Cast
14. 视频 HDCP 2.2/BT2020/HDR 支持

“减少”特性:
1. HDMI输出减少了一个,现只有2个HDMI输出,原来的hd zone输出取消了
2. YPBPR 色差输入减少了一组
3. OPtical out 取消(原来就没啥用)
4. zone减少一组
5. 取消了多通道模拟输入(Multi-IN)
6. 取消了usd-dac功能

New added functions (Compare with LX89)
1. 11.2 direct output support (LX89 only can support up to 9.2 without external amp)
2. Come with ATMOS/DTSX firmware (LX89 require firmware update for DTS:X)
3. HDMI 2.0a (LX89 require firmware update to support HDMI 2.0a, and just the first 3x HDMI port support 2.0a)
4. Speaker system support 4 atmos ceiling speakers or 4 front height speakers mode or random mix any of them (useful to switch in between atmos and dtsx)
5. Remote controller optimized
6. Increase analogue stereo inputs to 6 modes
7. 3x Digital input (2x in LX89)
8. Zone2/3 can direct output (LX89 only can pre-out)
9. Brand new GUI, full visualized user interface, can customize OSD display
10. Support Google Cast
11. Reflex Optimizer (Advanced version of fullband phasecontrol)
12. Support DSD 11.2Mhz(Lx89 only support up to 5.6Mhz)
13. PQFA clocking system (Upgraded version of PQLS,no longer restrict to pioneer BD player but support to all connected devices. Support dual clocking system 44.1/88.2/176.4和48/96/192)
14. Support HDCP 2.2/BT2020/HDR for latest 4K standard

What less?
1. HDMI output decrease 1, left 2 outputs now, HD zone output cancelled
2. YPBPR input decrese 1
3. Optical output cancelled
4. Decrease 1 zone

Hi everyone,

Any idea why my avr will keep on power on/off by itself? Sometimes it happen, somethings not. My avr is pre out to an amplifier, therefore all the power is drawn by the external amplifier and no speakers are connected to the avr.
Is it due to faulty hdmi, or power supply, or hdmi board? Really don know why.

Is lx57. Listening volume is -20 from the master volume. Speaker sensitive is 90db. A nood question, do we need to off the amp from the avr if i am using a external power amplifier for my speakers through pre-out? It is because if i off it, the tendency of my avr auto switching off/on would be higher. But if i leave it on, although the chances of switching off are lesser but my avr would be very hot.

Better check again there is no short in between those pre-out rca. You can switch off the Main means the power amp in LX57 is completely turn off. Do isolation check by disconnect one by one pre-out channel connection to filter the actual root cause.
One last thing you can do a factory reset follow by full mcacc.
Please update your finding so that we can help further.

Bought a 2nd hand LX57 from fellow member here. :)

Is it normal to have to crank the volume up to -20db or higher for movies (Bluray and media player)? The sound is great, no problems with that.
For stereo (eg. Internet radio) - it's already pretty loud at -35db.

Also connected to Starhub box (Dolby Digital) with HDMI but the sound is pretty bad. Tried with HDMI and also optical input - both sounds bad. Used to be OK with my old Panasonic AVR. Maybe I'll hook up analog connection with the Starhub box.

Yes for movies, below -20 volume is normal. Usually i am around -18 (i am using LX 78). For Mio and SH, what do you mean by bad? Anyway for me i use "EXT STEREO" for Mio and SH.

Agree to sje4182, i also usually use ext.stereo to watch 2ch source from internet tvbox streaming like singing competition, its giving more live feeling.
-30db seems quite low compare to mine which also -20 to -25db. Have you done proper mcacc?

Starhub sound is bad - as in lacks fidelity (poor bass, poor voice). Bluray and media playback and Internet radio is fine and playing very well.

I did MCACC. My setup wired for Front L/R + Wide L/R speakers too.

Anyway, I'll try again next time on the Starhub connection. It's still acceptable, but I think it has to be a lot better.

try disconnecting the power cord into the star hub box itself..
leave it alone without any power for at least 3 minutes...
then plug back the power cord into the star hub box n let it slowly reboot up again..
star hub sometimes has firmware updates for the card in the box itself..
jus try... never know... it just might improve??

If you talking about audio quality of SH box program, just forget it..i found only the HD channel with 5.1 DD at least can have acceptable sq for movie, but the signal output level seems really low. Dun expect too much.
