Title: Exposure amplifier and Dynaudio Emit M10
Post by: johannes on March 25, 2019, 10:17
Hi everyone,

just wondering if Exposure 1010 is strong enough to power Dynaudio Emit M10 (6ohm, 86db)?
Exposure 1010 has 50W per channel and 120VA custom made toroidal transformer.
Trying to cut cost here, i know that the bigger brother 2010S2 definitely can.
so what do you guys think?
Thanks a lot guys!

what's your listening room area?
mini is roughly 4x4 meter room.

It's a lot depended on what kind of music ( dynamic range ) and how loud ( power watt ) on giving speakers and listener's sitting.

I am listening to various kinds bro.
Reason is I have been reading that Dynaudio speakers require more power to drive.
But this recent model is not that demanding, just trying to see some input whether exposure 1010 is adequate before going for it.

my listening around is 3.6 x 4.5m. I listen to rock and chinese songs. the volume knob is always less than 1/4 of the total volume.

Another alternative is Marantz PM8005 (70w) which I'm using to drive my old Dynaudio/ Contour 1.3SE (6ohm / 85dB) in my bedroom. Many consider Contour series difficult to drive but surprisingly there's no issue.

Prior to my purchase I've heard PM8005 driving dynaudio floorstander (cannot remember the model) during Singapore Hifi show a few years ago demoed by Jay Audio which amazed me with its dynamic and coherence. Not just jazz and classical music they were playing Chinese, pop, blues and rock music too. Simply enjoyable to my ears.

One year plus ago when I moved to my new abode I needed an inexpensive integrated amp for my bedroom and PM8005 comes to mind.

Thanks bro, i guess it is another option. After reading up online, PM8005 does not seem to be in a class of feeble kinda amp, more to beefy kind, so yea i guess it should possess the power to drive those Dyns.

it was said to me that exposure had a laid back sound while the other brand audiolab had a wider and forward sounding amp.

i am surprised at almost every exposure amp i came across with, it was bad.
until i heard yours. years of immerse knowledge and tweaking got it right.

Interestingly I never heard a bad Exposure. A tinge of warmth together with loads of PRaT has never failed to draw me into the music unless of course the up stream is crappy.
